Italian Wine Expo in Zagreb – 15 November 2016 / 27 June 2016

“Italian Wine Expo” is a meeting point for Italian wineries, offering them the opportunity to showcase their finest production in an exclusive setting within the Croatian market.

“Italian Wine Expo” is a travelling event across the Balkan region, designed to promote and present the excellence of Italian wine production.
Following previous editions in Albania, Serbia and Montenegro, the next event will take place in Zagreb on November 15th, featuring a workshop dedicated exclusively to Italian wine companies and focused on the Croatian market.

The prestigious Hotel Esplanade Zagreb, an iconic Art Deco landmark in the heart of the historic city, will host “Italian Wine Expo 2016 Croatia” in its elegant halls. The event represents a privileged platform for networking with key Croatian wine industry professionals, including importers, distributors, Ho.Re.Ca representatives, sommeliers, specialized journalists and opinion leaders.

The South-East European region (the Balkans) represents a strategic partnership area for Europe and, in particular, for Italy. In recent years, the region has experienced increasing political stability and has embarked on a clear path towards integration, both “vertically” (with European and international institutions) and “horizontally”, through the development of a regional free trade area.

Italy has played a key role in this process through the continuous efforts of public institutions and private enterprises. Today, it is the leading trade partner for Croatia and Serbia, as well as the top foreign investor in Montenegro, the seventh in Croatia and the ninth in Bosnia.

Croatia, driven by the growth of high-quality dining and evolving lifestyles, has seen a steady increase in wine consumption in recent years, to the detriment of other alcoholic beverages such as beer.

For Italian companies, Croatia represents a nearby and easily accessible market, offering reduced logistical costs. Although relatively new for Italian wine, the Croatian market – like the broader Balkan area – is rapidly expanding. Italian food and wine, as well as fashion and design, are widely appreciated, highly valued and in strong demand.
